about

FROM BULL CITY RECORDS PRESENTS:

I first got to know Colin Sneed's songwriting through his knockout Oxford, MS power pop / garage group Unwed Teenage Mothers. I got pulled in rather fast off the strength of three 7"s and a 12". After pulling up those MIssissippi roots, he landed here in Durham, NC and didn't stop the hook writing as both a solo bedroom rock project and grouped up with friends. After getting to know him personally, I was pleasantly surprised at how genuine and enthusiastic he is as a person and that carries over to how he approaches the music community. If you dig weirdo power pop, this is for you. Even if you don't, I hope you'll listen. Colin works at a bookshop by day and is as taken with literature as he is music, so keep your ears open to his writing. As always, thanks for stopping by and listening! -chaz

FROM COLIN:

I recorded drums for "5/13/1931" and "CUTS" and "MARCELINE" and wrote to the drums and got Johnny Valiant to sing them. These songs were inspired by the book 'THE ROAD TO JONESTOWN: JIM JONES AND PEOPLES TEMPLE'.

"PLANE" was a song my old band SCANNERS (w/Ben Carr, Ian Rose & Johnny Valiant) used to play. It's about not wanting to cut your hair then cutting your hair anyway because who gives a shit?

"REGRESSOR" is a song my old old band UNWED TEENAGE MOTHERS (w/Landon Boyte, Shane Prewitt & Johnny) played for a bit back around 2014 but never recorded. I think its a good song to listen to while driving.

"BLEEDER" and "LAST ONE TO DIE" and "GHOST" are songs for my new band LIFTERS (w/Ty Barnes) and will hopefully be part of an eventual full-length record.

"DRUG DEAD" is something I don't remember doing.

All songs were recorded and performed by myself - except Johnny's vocals - at the SHOES & SOCKS LOUNGE in Durham, NC.
